Graeme responds:

Thanks Pelo my boi.
I'm glad to see the general consensus is that there are far less annoying sounds this time around. I'm not sure what makes people consider them annoying. That sort of thing never bothers me. I don't even get a shiver from nails on a chalkboard.

Amazing Piece of Work

Like other animations, this one stands out because of its gritty style that masks a real world meaning, but it's also quite charming at the same time.

When I first watched this, I missed the meaning completely and actually mistook it for a comedy. However, once the mother pig gave up her child I realized I couldn't have been more wrong.

What makes this animation charming is the way you animate: Pig N (the pig we focus on), the two pigs playing Battleships, the man behind the desk, the quick (and sometimes silly) sound effects, and the very bizarre world they live in. These do good to make the film a little less grim. In fact, when we first see Pig N move around, that's what made me mistake this for a comedy.

In regards to the mother pig giving up her child, I've noticed that people seemed to hate the scene (and of course, those are most of the reviews you respond to). Thinking on it some, I don't think the death of the young one is the worst (read "horrible, horrifying") part of that scene, but rather how quickly she gets over the sorrow and guilt she has so she can get a quick fix. I'm not criticizing you putting it in there, but rather I'm saying you nailed that issue perfectly.

I get that the man behind the desk is supposed to symbolize the drug lords and how he can pull the strings of the pigs, but I don't understand why he wants to eat the pigs. For all I know, it could be a little extra something you put in as a filler, but I doubt that. Could it be showing how drug dealers will kill and dispose of the bodies of those who tried to screw them? (see also the long note on the receipt...holy shit, that was grim)

In the end, this is a great piece with a great meaning.

SpamClamberton responds:

He eats the pigs because he's a hungry fella. Also, if he's giving the pigs coins it would be plain silly if they paid him with money. No, in this world the drug dealer craves only pork.

Wow!

That was amazing! Though the animation style was cartoony, it flowed very well, matched the essence of the song, incredibly smooth, and the lip syncing was virtually perfect.

The right song with the right animation makes a phenomenal Flash. Props.

ActiveObjectX responds:

Glad you enjoyed it!

Amusing!

I must say, this was a very well done take on literature. It was simple, funny, but also told the main parts of the story. Kudos!

I can relate to you on making something like this for English class...I played off of Catcher in the Rye (oh god what a horrible book), but somehow got a 90. What did you get?

Nice little gem among the rough.

~Pelo

PeteGrammarman responds:

I believe I got at least a 90 on this, but I can't say for sure. And I thought Catcher in the Rye was a fine book, I'm going to watch your parody right now. Thanks for the review!

Pelo says...

Pros?
~Good graphics.
~Awesome intro.
~Perfect music.

Cons?
~Walking looks choppy.
~Story's meaning is unclear.

Overall?
It's very well done, but the story's meaning is unclear, which defeats the purpose of the animation in my opinion. Regardless, the animation fits the music perfectly.

Good luck with future projects, and congrats on the awards!

Clarevoyant responds:

Thanks for your input! I'll try to be more clear on the story next time =\

Pelo says...

Pros?
~Entertaining.
~Good variety.
~Great concept.
~Silly sounds.

Cons?
~Mildly annoying.

Overall?
So that's what you were working on...I must say, that was pretty well put together! However, the "lelelelele" sound got a little annoying.

If you make another one, that'd be awesome! =D

~Pelo

Graeme responds:

Pelo. Shame on you. Your not allowed to not give me a 10!!!

Impressive...

I'll admit, the song and style wasn't my cup of tea, but the animation was still done very well. The details were pretty decent, and the opening and closing were well done.

Well done. =3

cheshirecat1582 responds:

Thanks!!! Well I'm glad that that didn't change your vote... I know it was a little too serious, but thats kinda my style... Haha, Thanks Again...

Interesting...

Huh, I will say, that was pretty interesting...the syncing to the music beats was well done, the graphics were decent cartoon styles, and it was a good song with an appropriate animation.

The only drawback was the lip syncing. It could use a little work here and there, but that could also be from the different language...if you want, I could help you with your lip syncing.

Great job! I just wish this would be more known.

~Pelo

cheshirecat1582 responds:

Thanks, yeah its really hard to lip sync! Especially in another language, since i had no idea what they where saying, and I don't speak Russian... I think i ended up just faking it the whole way with this one... haha...

Pelo says...

Pros?
~Different.
~Simple.
~Didn't lag.

Cons?
~Sound effects.
~Short for a stick fight movie.

Overall?
For a couple day's work, it's pretty good. It didn't lag, and if it was longer, it would've been much more enjoyable.

Another thing that would be an improvement would be the sound effects. The hitting sounds were fine, but the voice acting could use some work. It would be better if there is more variety in the enemies' voices when they're hit.

'Tis a good start, and I wish you the best of luck on future projects! =D

~Pelo

luksfarris responds:

thank you, pelo

That was...different.

I thought it amusing, and it did put a smile on my face. I liked Viking Bob and Tech Support to be the best parts. The animation was smooth and a different style than what I usually see. Not sure what to make of the whole Germexico thing, but it helped keep the story going and add a couple jokes here and there.

Overall, good job. =3

rockymike responds:

Thanks!

Quite PPO...(look at upside-down)
